Acapella on Android
Extract the acapella of a song on your phone
To transcribe a melody, work on phrasing or prepare a remix of your own song, you often need the vocals alone. The NAUPLY Stems app separates them from the rest on your Android phone and gives them to you as a separate stem, ready to play or export.
Coming soon to Google Play
The app is in closed testing on Google Play. Leave your address: we'll email you the day it's publicly released.

Import the song
Tap "Import a song": an audio file (MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC…) or the audio of a video on the phone.
Separate in Quality mode
For vocals alone, Quality mode is recommended: it leaves fewer traces of instruments than Fast mode. Tap "Separate".
Listen and export the vocals
In the mixer, solo the Vocals stem, adjust its low / mid / high curve if needed, then save it as WAV or MP3.

Mixer: vocals and instrumental, solo, mute, BPM and key
WAV or MP3 export
Listen to a real separation
14 seconds of an original NAUPLY track. Switch stems while it plays: the position is kept.
Split into 2 stems with the same model as the app's Quality mode (htdemucs), computed on a computer for this demo: the result on a phone may differ slightly. Same loudness for each stem; MP3 128 kbps. Song and stems: NAUPLY's own material, no third-party song.
What you really get
The Vocals stem contains the lead vocal, backing vocals and doubles, with part of their reverb. Depending on the mix, a little cymbal or guitar may remain in busy passages: that's the limit of any separation made from an already mixed song.
A small curve per stem (±12 dB on lows, mids and highs) can soften leftover hi-hat or bass; you hear it right away and it's applied on export.
On the phone, nothing uploaded
Separation is computed by the phone's processor. Your audio, your files and their names are never uploaded: the internet is only used for your NAUPLY account and this month's separation counter. Without a connection, even in airplane mode, 2 separations a month remain possible; they are counted when you're back online.
What about rights?
Splitting a song to listen to it, practise or study it at home is private use. Publishing a modified version of a copyrighted song (video, remix, uploaded cover) requires permission from the rights holders. When in doubt, work on your own songs or on royalty-free tracks.
Frequently asked questions
- Are the vocals perfectly isolated?
- Rarely 100%: it's a reconstruction. On a clear mix the result is very clean; on a dense mix (distorted guitars, long reverbs) some traces remain. Quality mode gives the app's best result.
- Which formats can I export?
- WAV (16 or 24-bit) or MP3 320 kbps. If you changed the key or speed, the export can apply them.
- Can I separate backing vocals from the lead?
- Not with the app: it splits into two stems, vocals and instrumental. All voices stay together.
- Is the app free?
- The free version only needs a NAUPLY account, no payment method: 10 separations a month, up to 15 minutes per song, no ads, valid for 6 months from activation (once per account). A cancelled or failed separation is given back; listening, mixing, exporting or reopening a song you already split doesn't count. The Premium and Pro editions of NAUPLY Stems, with the same licence as the desktop plugin, have no monthly limit.
- Can I publish a remix made with these vocals?
- Splitting a song to listen to it, practise or study it at home is private use. Publishing a modified version of a copyrighted song (video, remix, uploaded cover) requires permission from the rights holders. When in doubt, work on your own songs or on royalty-free tracks.
