Instrumental on Android
Make an instrumental of a song with your phone
A version without singing to rehearse, accompany a choir or prepare a cover: the NAUPLY Stems app removes the vocals of a song on your Android phone and lets you adjust the instrumental before saving it.

Import and separate
"Import a song", then "Separate" in Quality mode. Processing happens on the phone; a notification tells you when it's ready.
Adjust the instrumental
Mute the Vocals stem. If needed, change the key (±6 semitones) or the speed (50 to 125%): one doesn't affect the other.
Save it
Export as WAV or MP3 320 kbps, with or without the key and speed you chose.

Mixer: vocals and instrumental, solo, mute, BPM and key

Listen to a real separation
14 seconds of an original NAUPLY track. Switch stems while it plays: the position is kept.
Split into 2 stems with the same model as the app's Quality mode (htdemucs), computed on a computer for this demo: the result on a phone may differ slightly. Same loudness for each stem; MP3 128 kbps. Song and stems: NAUPLY's own material, no third-party song.
What an instrumental is for
Rehearsing a song before a gig or an audition, singing in your range by lowering the key, accompanying a choir, recording a cover for yourself: a clean instrumental makes all of this easier than the original song.
Keep a little voice if it helps: lower the Vocals stem's volume instead of muting it, and it becomes a discreet guide.
Offline and private
Separation is computed by the phone's processor. Your audio, your files and their names are never uploaded: the internet is only used for your NAUPLY account and this month's separation counter. Without a connection, even in airplane mode, 2 separations a month remain possible; they are counted when you're back online.
Free, and what counts
The free version only needs a NAUPLY account, no payment method: 10 separations a month, up to 15 minutes per song, no ads, valid for 6 months from activation (once per account). A cancelled or failed separation is given back; listening, mixing, exporting or reopening a song you already split doesn't count. The Premium and Pro editions of NAUPLY Stems, with the same licence as the desktop plugin, have no monthly limit.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the changed key applied to the exported file?
- Yes, if you choose so when exporting. You can also export the original instrumental.
- How much space does a separated song take?
- Android 8.0 or later, a 64-bit ARM processor and 4 GB of memory (6 GB recommended). Allow about 37 MB of phone storage per minute of music and per separated stem.
- Can I also separate the drums or the bass?
- Not on the phone yet: the app splits into two stems, vocals and instrumental. More stems for Premium and Pro are coming soon. NAUPLY Stems for desktop already goes up to 10 stems.
- Is the app free?
- The free version only needs a NAUPLY account, no payment method: 10 separations a month, up to 15 minutes per song, no ads, valid for 6 months from activation (once per account). A cancelled or failed separation is given back; listening, mixing, exporting or reopening a song you already split doesn't count. The Premium and Pro editions of NAUPLY Stems, with the same licence as the desktop plugin, have no monthly limit.
- Can I publish my cover over the instrumental?
- Splitting a song to listen to it, practise or study it at home is private use. Publishing a modified version of a copyrighted song (video, remix, uploaded cover) requires permission from the rights holders. When in doubt, work on your own songs or on royalty-free tracks.
