Vocal remover for Android
Remove the vocals from a song, right on your phone
Want the music without the singing? The NAUPLY Stems app separates the vocals and the instrumental of a song on your Android phone, without sending it over the internet. The result isn't the studio's original track but a reconstruction computed by an AI model: very clean on most songs, sometimes with faint traces of voice on very dense mixes.

Import the song
Tap "Import a song" and pick an audio file from the phone (MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC…) or a video: the app extracts its audio.
Run the separation
Choose Quality mode (recommended, about 15 to 40 seconds of processing per minute of music depending on the phone) or Fast, then tap "Separate".
Mute the vocals and export
In the mixer, mute the Vocals stem or listen to the Instrumental alone. Then save the instrumental as WAV or MP3 320 kbps.

Mixer: vocals and instrumental, solo, mute, BPM and key
Separation in progress on the phone
Listen to a real separation
14 seconds of an original NAUPLY track. Switch stems while it plays: the position is kept.
Split into 2 stems with the same model as the app's Quality mode (htdemucs), computed on a computer for this demo: the result on a phone may differ slightly. Same loudness for each stem; MP3 128 kbps. Song and stems: NAUPLY's own material, no third-party song.
Why do it on the phone
Separation is computed by the phone's processor. Your audio, your files and their names are never uploaded: the internet is only used for your NAUPLY account and this month's separation counter. Without a connection, even in airplane mode, 2 separations a month remain possible; they are counted when you're back online.
No upload or download to wait for: the separated song stays in "My songs" with your settings and reopens without a new separation.
For the best result
Start from the best possible source: a WAV or FLAC gives a cleaner separation than a heavily compressed MP3. A live recording made on a phone keeps the room's reverb, which sticks to both stems.
Fast mode is for a quick listen; if too much voice remains, "Redo in quality" runs the separation again with the most accurate model. Backing vocals and doubled voices go with the lead vocal: the app splits into two stems, vocals and instrumental.
Free, and what counts
The free version only needs a NAUPLY account, no payment method: 10 separations a month, up to 15 minutes per song, no ads, valid for 6 months from activation (once per account). A cancelled or failed separation is given back; listening, mixing, exporting or reopening a song you already split doesn't count. The Premium and Pro editions of NAUPLY Stems, with the same licence as the desktop plugin, have no monthly limit.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the app free?
- The free version only needs a NAUPLY account, no payment method: 10 separations a month, up to 15 minutes per song, no ads, valid for 6 months from activation (once per account). A cancelled or failed separation is given back; listening, mixing, exporting or reopening a song you already split doesn't count. The Premium and Pro editions of NAUPLY Stems, with the same licence as the desktop plugin, have no monthly limit.
- Is my music uploaded to a server?
- No. Separation happens entirely on the phone; neither the audio nor the file names are sent. The internet is only used for your NAUPLY account and the monthly counter.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, within a limit: without a network, 2 separations a month remain possible, counted when you're back online. Fast mode uses a model downloaded the first time you use it: download it before going offline.
- Can I keep only the vocals?
- Yes: the separation also gives you the Vocals stem, which you can play alone and export (see the "Extract the acapella" page).
- Which phones are supported?
- Android 8.0 or later, a 64-bit ARM processor and 4 GB of memory (6 GB recommended). Allow about 37 MB of phone storage per minute of music and per separated stem.
- Am I allowed to remove the vocals from a song?
- Splitting a song to listen to it, practise or study it at home is private use. Publishing a modified version of a copyrighted song (video, remix, uploaded cover) requires permission from the rights holders. When in doubt, work on your own songs or on royalty-free tracks.
