The Studio Duo vocal chain
The Studio Duo vocal chain: Vocora and Calqua on the same vocal
Studio Duo brings together two plugins designed for vocals. Vocora analyzes your take and sets up a complete chain; Calqua compares your sound with a reference and corrects the difference. Used one after the other, they give a clean vocal in the color you want in a few clicks.

Edition needed
- Vocora and Calqua: sold separately or together in the Studio Duo bundle.
Steps
1Analyze the vocal
Put Vocora on the vocal track, play a sung passage and click ANALYZE: Vocora measures sibilance, muddy lows and dynamics.
NAUPLY Vocora →2Build the chain
Choose a STYLE (Podcast/Broadcast, Pop Vocal, Rap/Trap…) and an INTENSITY, then BUILD CHAIN. Every module stays adjustable by hand, and ORIGINAL compares with the raw vocal.
NAUPLY Vocora →3Load a reference into Calqua
Add Calqua after Vocora and click “LOAD REFERENCE”: pick a vocal whose tone you like.
NAUPLY Calqua →4Capture your sound and set the amount
Start playback and click “CAPTURE MY SIGNAL”. Then set the AMOUNT (30 to 60% is often enough); PRESERVE LOW END reduces the correction in the lows, and AUTO GAIN compensates the level so you can compare fairly.

Good to know
- Vocora and Calqua don't talk to each other: they complement each other on the same track, with no shared settings.
- Vocora doesn't correct pitch: it's a mixing chain (EQ, de-esser, compression, presence, saturation, space).
Frequently asked questions
- Can I use Calqua without Vocora?
- Yes. Calqua works on its own, on a vocal, an instrument or the mix bus. So does Vocora. The Studio Duo bundle brings both together.
- Which reference should I choose for Calqua?
- A solo or very upfront vocal, in a style close to yours. A very different reference calls for a lower AMOUNT.
