The four Lontana effects together
The four Lontana effects together: Mod, Delay, Reverb and Shimmer in a row
The four Lontana effects are made to go together: modulation, echoes, space and pads. In your music software, you chain them on a send track, in an order that keeps the sound readable. Here is the recommended order and what each step does.

Steps
1Create a send track
Send the track to an auxiliary track: the effects work there at 100% wet and you set the overall amount with the send level. Start with Lontana Mod: chorus or ensemble to widen, flanger or phaser for a stronger effect.
NAUPLY Lontana Mod →2Repeat with Lontana Delay
Put Lontana Delay after Mod: the echoes inherit the movement. Digital mode for precise repeats, Analog Warm for a tape sound, Mod for wavering echoes.
NAUPLY Lontana Delay →3Blend it all with Lontana Reverb
Lontana Reverb after the delay melts the echoes into a shared space. Algorithmic for an adjustable space, convolution (impulse responses) for a real room.
NAUPLY Lontana Reverb →4Add a pad with Lontana Shimmer
Last, or on a separate send, Lontana Shimmer pitches the reverb tail up (Single mode), both ways (Dual) or down (Reverse): enough to turn a note into a pad.

Good to know
- Today each Lontana effect is a separate plugin: you chain them in your music software. The Lontana Rack, which will bring them into a single window, is in preparation.
- Cut the lows at the start of the chain (or on the send track) so echoes and reverb don't muddy the bottom of the mix.
Frequently asked questions
- In what order should chorus, delay and reverb go?
- The most common: modulation, then delay, then reverb. The echoes inherit the movement, and the reverb melts everything into one space.
- Are the four Lontana effects really free?
- Yes: they're free with a NAUPLY account, full license, no time limit.
